Online registration for the hosting of a gastronomy stand, on the Carnival of Cultures 2026 Street Festival
The contract between the applicant and the organizer/lessor is concluded when a booking confirmation is issued, or an invoice is sent after checking the information provided.

The fee for sole proprietors is €176.04 and for legal entities (Ltd., PLC, …) €202.12. If it is determined that the IHK certificate is necessary, the fee is increased by €26.08. The application for the permission, with the personal data of the stand operators, is exclusively carried out by the lessor.

Important Notes:

The lessee is not entitled to assign or sublet the agreed stand rental space to third parties. The contract must be kept on site during the event in case of inspection. Furthermore, the lessee undertakes to affix an owner’s sign. The lessee hereby expressly undertakes to offer only the contractually agreed range of products.

Set-Up, Dismantling, Traffic
Set-Up work, dismantling and traffic on the festival area is prohibited during the opening times and is only possible within the specified periods.

Operation of the stand
The unique atmosphere of this festival should be developed further. Therefore, we ask you to design your stand colourful and original with much love! It is not permitted to set up garden pavilions, party tents and pasting tables. The use of monochrome market umbrellas is only permitted after prior agreement.

Playing or performing music is expressly prohibited. This is reserved for the stages and Music Corners. Stand operators who do not adhere to these conditions will not be refunded the following agreed security deposit of €500, which in this case remains with the organizer as an agreed and then due contractual penalty and will be excluded from participation in the street festival for three years (see also article 2 of the General Terms and Conditions).

Stand Numbers
In addition to the invoice number, each stand operator/participant also receives a stand number (independent of the invoice number). This number will be communicated with the entry ticket and the stand sign after payment of the invoice. This stand number can be found within the stand marking on site.

Depth of the Stand/ A-Boards/ High Tables/ Cooling Trailers
The possible total depth of the stands, including all (also temporary) constructions, depends on the respective location and is clearly indicated on site by a marking line. For locations on the pavement, the kerb (unless otherwise agreed) forms the front edge of the stand. Beyond this marking line or the kerb, there may at no time be any constructions or uses of any kind by the stand operators/ lessees. This means, for example, for Blücherstraße (on the central reservation) and on Waterloo-Ufer (canal side) that the maximum stand depth, including all constructions, may only be 3m. Contraventions on site will result in exclusion from the Street Festival.

Please note the space requirements for cooling trailers/transporters under Point 7. Miscellaneous. Additional logistics space cannot be guaranteed across the board and requires individual consultation!

Power/ Water
With his signature, the stand operator undertakes to bring the following utensils, provided that he has registered his power/ water requirements:
1. Water supply line: water hose, 50m, with ¾ inch thread connection (GEKA), KTW and DVGW W270, food safe
2. Water drainage: sewerage hose, 50m
3. Power supply: extension cable, for outdoor use, 50m

Liability Insurance
Every stand operator is obliged to take out liability insurance for any damage for which he himself is responsible and to keep it available for inspection on site.

Event safety
With his signature, the stand operator undertakes to keep a tested ABC fire extinguisher (6 kg) ready at his stand and, if deep fat fryers/woks, liquid gas systems, charcoal grills or open fires are operated, to keep an appropriate fire extinguisher ready as well (e.g. ABF fat fire extinguisher). Deep fryers with a capacity of more than 50 l are not permitted. The filling capacities of adjacent units (distance <60 cm) are added together.

Good Order, Tidiness, Waste
The lessee shall set up suitable waste bins in the immediate vicinity of his stand. He is responsible for emptying them regularly and for cleaning adjacent areas.
There are waste centres for each participant close to the stand areas, where the packaging waste produced must be disposed of separately by material. In the waste centres there are bins for cardboard and paper, for bottles and jars, for plastic waste and a general waste bin. These bins are emptied once a day. You can find the waste centres on your map with a blue M | Müll. Additionally, yellow bags for plastic waste and blue bags for cardboard and paper are provided at the stands, which can be used for pre-sorting.

Sustainability
The ‚Carnival of Cultures‘ has set itself the task of making the organisation and performance of the street festival and parade as environmentally friendly as possible. In order to achieve the sustainability goals that have been set, all participants are required to make an effort. They should try to make their logistics, the type of goods and packaging, etc. sustainable and also look for sustainable, reusable solutions for decorative materials.

Food and drinks may only be served in reusable dishes/cups. The requirement to use reusable cups/dishes or palm leaf dishes/wooden cutlery applies without exception to all vendors and all types of food.

If you need returnable cups/ dishes, use CupCycle, Cup Concept, TTT or others.
If you need palm leaf tableware/ wooden cutlery, only use products from Co. LEEF® (available with 20% discount code ‚Exklusiv-KdK26‘ in LEEF®’s own wisefood online shop).

All PET bottles and glass bottles sold by arrangement at the festival must be deposited. No plastic drinking straws may be used.

Miscellaneous
To cover violations of the stand operator/ lessee against regulations in articles 2, 11 and 12 of the General Terms and Conditions, as well as in case of soiling or damage to rental stands and pagoda tents, the organizer charges a deposit of €500. In case of violation of the regulations in article 2 (prohibition of music/ voice amplification with own loudspeaker system), article 11 (returnable cups, palm leaf crockery and wooden cutlery) or article 12 (requirement of proper stand cleaning and waste disposal), this deposit remains with the organizer in the full amount of €500 as an agreed and then due contractual penalty.

In case of that the stand operator/ lessee violates several conditions/ articles 2, 11 and 12 of the General Terms and Conditions, the organizer can demand a contractual penalty of €500 for violations of each of these three articles, i.e. up to a maximum of €1,500 in total, from the stand operator/ lessee, against which the deposit is then to be offset.

In case of compliance with the requirements of the three articles, the deposit will be returned to the stand operator/ lessee no later than 14 days after the end of the event.

Organizer of the Street Festival for the „Carnival of Cultures“ is Piranha Arts AG.
KETERING GmbH oversees renting the stands and supporting the traders/ participants. Following this registration, the information provided will be checked and, in case of admission, the invoice will be issued in the name of the organizer.

With his signature the lessee acknowledges that, in case of that the „Carnival of Cultures Street Festival“ cannot take place for reasons beyond the control of Piranha Arts AG, Ketering GmbH shall not be liable for any expenses incurred by the lessee. In this case the agreed stand rental payment shall be due in full.

    In order to protect against violations by the stand operator/lessee of the regulations in Articles 2, 11 and 12 of the General Terms and Conditions as well as in case of soiling or damage to loan stands and pagoda tents, the organizer will charge a security deposit of €500.

    4. Other Necessary Information

    4.1 Fire Protection / Event Safety

    Materials from which the decorations are made must be flame-retardant (according to DIN 4102 or EN 13501-1) or made of planed wood. Small bast and straw mats as well as fabrics and decorative parts can be made flame-retardant afterwards by brushing or spraying with appropriate approved impregnating agents. For large-area decorative elements such as side walls or roofs, easily flammable materials such as paper, cardboard and reed are generally not permitted due to the high fire risk. Deep fat fryers with a capacity of more than 50 l are not permitted. The filling capacities of adjacent units (distance <60 cm) are added together. The fire extinguishers required below must be placed in a clearly visible position in the entrance area of the stand so that they can be used quickly!

    Gas test according to DGUV Regel 110-010

    Please note that this registration can only be processed and participation in the „Carnival of Cultures“ is only possible if a copy of the test certificate with recognisable assignment to the tested device is uploaded under point 5.3.6!

    The inspection of mobile liquid gas systems can be done by any specialist company by a person authorised to carry out inspections in accordance with BetrSichV (TRBS 1203). The gas system is checked by the qualified person for leaks, proper condition, function and functionality of the safety devices. E.g. at::

    On the set-up day (Thursday 5 June between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.), the person responsible for the stand must personally verify the proper condition of the operational gas system on site. The original report on the inspection of the liquid gas system must be submitted!

     

    Attention! To prevent fires caused by charcoal or open flames, a filled 10-litre water bucket must also be provided.

    Electrical testing according to DGUV regulation 3

    Please note that this application can only be processed and participation is only possible if a copy of the test certificate with recognisable assignment to the tested device is uploaded!

    The testing of mobile electrical systems and equipment can be carried out at any specialist company by a person authorised to test (in accordance with BetrSichV, TRBS 1203). All electrical appliances (ovens, grills, refrigerators, cables, socket strips, lamps, fairy lights, kettles, etc.) must be tested for electrical safety by a qualified person in accordance with DIN VDE 0701-0702 in various individual tests (visual inspection, measurement, functional test).

The tested fire extinguishers (!!! 6 kg !!!) of the required fire class must be presented ready to hand and ready for use.
